Made by tombstone carvers in Madurai, this work reflects on time and monumentality through the visual language of play. Inspired by the gaming boards carved into ancient stone surfaces, the sculpture resembles a terrain scattered with everyday debris. The work uses the visual language of the gaming board and the map to examine how knowledge, territory, and value are organized. Activated through touch and interaction, it invites viewers to play using ordinary plastic objects as game pieces. The work is currently on display in the permanent exhibition at the Museum of Art and Photography.
