︎ Mixed media including carved granite and found objects

Made by tombstone carvers in Madurai, this work reflects on time and monumentality through the visual language of play. Inspired by the gaming boards carved into ancient stone surfaces, the sculpture resembles a terrain scattered with everyday debris. The work uses the visual language of the gaming board and the map to examine how knowledge, territory, and value are organized. Activated through touch and interaction, it invites viewers to play using ordinary plastic objects as game pieces. The work is currently on display in the permanent exhibition at the Museum of Art and Photography.Photo credit: Mira Brunner and Saikat

︎ Plaster sculpture, readymades (plastic toys, easter grass, mirrors, fishing lures), charcoal drawings

If compassion is seeing things as if from afar, how do you account for shortsightedness? This work, shown at Artspring 2023 “Hell”, is an assemblage meditating on the distorting effects of time, scale, and distance on reality. Drawing on gaming boards, maps, and monuments, the sculpture considers how systems of knowledge persist, fragment, and become legible again.

︎ Collage, foil chocolate wrappers on paperSkinned and glued to sheets of paper, the little foil easter rabbits and chicks return to pasture. Referencing the use of gold in byzantine mosaics, these foil collages engage with the idea of value and worth. The gleaming gold foil was meant to be disposed once the chocolate it once held was eaten, but now it adorns walls. These works were exhibited in “Away from Screen” at Speakeasy Berlin in 2023.
